Terms of Use

Effective date: September 16, 2026

Please read these Terms of Use (“Terms”) before using Memento. By creating an account or otherwise using Memento, you agree to these Terms.

About Memento

Memento is a personal reflection and time-awareness web application, operated by Nick Murias (“Memento,” “we,” or “us”). Memento helps you see your finite time — through a Life Calendar, daily intentions, rough time allocation, evening reflection, weekly insights, and personal goals — and asks you to interpret what you see. It is not medical, financial, or professional advice of any kind.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Memento. By using Memento, you represent that you are 18 or older.

Your account

  • Memento uses passwordless, email “magic link” sign-in — there is no password to create or remember.
  • Because a magic link is sent to your email address, anyone with access to that email account can sign in as you. You are responsible for keeping your email account secure.
  • You agree to provide an accurate email address and to keep it up to date.

Your content

You own the intentions, reflections, time entries, goals, and any other content you enter into Memento (“Your Content”). You grant Memento, and the service providers that help us operate it, a limited permission to store, process, and display Your Content solely as necessary to provide the service to you — for example, saving your entries and showing them back to you. We do not use Your Content for advertising.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • attempt to access another user’s account or information;
  • interfere with or disrupt the operation or security of Memento;
  • use Memento for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms; or
  • attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or misuse Memento beyond normal personal use.

Intellectual property

Memento’s design, text, software, and branding belong to Nick Murias. Except for Your Content, nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership or license beyond what is needed for your own normal, personal use of the service.

Changes, interruption, and discontinuation

Memento is under active development. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any feature — or the service as a whole — at any time, with or without notice.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Memento if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. You may stop using Memento at any time.

Requesting deletion

You may permanently delete your account and its data at any time from Settings, or by emailing support@mementolife.com. See our Privacy Policy for more detail on retention after a deletion request.

Not medical or mental-health care

Memento discusses mortality, time, and personal reflection as a matter of Stoic philosophy — it is not medical or mental-health care. Memento does not provide diagnosis, treatment, therapy, or crisis intervention, and is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you are experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, or are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services or an appropriate crisis service right away.

Disclaimers

Memento is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Memento and Nick Murias will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Memento.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
