Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 16, 2026
Updated: October 7, 2026

Memento is operated by Nick Murias (“Memento,” “we,” or “us”). This policy explains what information Memento collects, why, and how you can reach us about it. It is written to describe what Memento actually does, not a generic template — if anything here seems inconsistent with the product, please tell us at support@mementolife.com.

Information you provide

Memento collects the following, directly from you:

  • Reminder preferences — whether you enable morning or evening emails, the times you choose, and your timezone. Reminders are optional and can be disabled in Settings or through the unsubscribe link in an email.
  • Account information — the email address you sign in with, and the unique account identifier Supabase (our authentication provider) assigns when your account is created.
  • Onboarding answers — your date of birth, the visualization horizon you choose, the personal values you select, and the current priorities you select.
  • Daily use — the intentions you write and whether you mark them as honored, the rough time allocations you record (across categories such as sleep, work, health, relationships, growth, leisure, “wasted time,” and other), and anything you write in your evening reflections.
  • Goals — the goals you create, their horizon (Before I die, This year, or This chapter), any optional note on why a goal matters, and whether it is active, paused, or completed.
  • Support communications — anything you send to support@mementolife.com, and any feedback or support message you submit through Memento’s in-app Feedback & Support form (its category, its message text, and the page it was sent from). We may use the email address on your account to respond. Submitting the in-app form also causes an email-delivery provider to process that message so it can reach our support inbox.

Memento does not ask for your name, phone number, payment details, physical location, contacts, or medical records, and does not collect them.

Information collected automatically

  • Essential session cookies — used to keep you signed in. A separate first-party visitor cookie, lasting up to 30 days, helps connect visits with signup activity. Memento sets no third-party advertising cookies unless you opt in to the advertising measurement described below.
  • Limited browser storage — used for an in-progress onboarding draft before you finish signing up, and for detecting whether this browser holds data saved by an earlier, pre-account version of Memento. If it does, you are offered a one-time choice to bring that data into your account. Session storage also keeps campaign labels from links for first-party attribution. That legacy data is only ever offered to one account at a time, and is never silently assigned across different accounts on the same browser.
  • Infrastructure-level technical information — our infrastructure providers (see “Sharing of information” below) automatically process standard technical data such as IP address, browser and device information, and request logs, as part of operating and securing the service.
  • Optional advertising measurement (Meta Pixel) — only if you choose Accept on our notice (or Allow below). Memento then loads Meta’s pixel on its public pages (the home page, sign-in, this policy, and the Terms), and once, when you finish confirming a brand-new account’s email, a “registration completed” event. Meta receives the page address, referring site, your IP address, browser and device details, and the cookies it sets (_fbp, _fbc). If you are signed in to a Meta product, Meta may associate this with your Meta account. We do not send your email address, and nothing from inside Memento — no intentions, reflections, goals, time entries, date of birth, onboarding answers, or feedback. Meta handles this under its own privacy policy and uses it to report on and improve our advertising. Declining, or withdrawing below, stops it and clears Meta’s cookies from this browser. A browser Global Privacy Control signal is treated as declining.

Memento records first-party activity events such as signup, onboarding completion, the first saved intention or reflection, active days, and visits to time-awareness screens. Events can include your account identifier, timezone, dates, and campaign labels from links. Analytics does not contain your reflection text, intentions, priorities, goals, or date of birth. We also record reminder delivery status and link clicks. These events help us understand whether Memento is useful and whether reminders bring people back.

How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • authenticate you and keep your account secure;
  • provide and save the Memento features you use;
  • display your own reflections, time information, and goals back to you;
  • maintain the security and integrity of the service;
  • deliver reminders you opt into and measure product usage;
  • if you opt in, measure whether our advertising brings people to Memento;
  • respond to your support requests; and
  • comply with applicable legal obligations.

Sharing of information

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not use your intentions, reflections, time entries, or goals for advertising. Product activity analytics stays in our Supabase database and is not sent to ad platforms. If you opt in, Meta’s pixel receives only the limited public-page and registration signals described above.
  • We share information with service providers only as needed to operate Memento. Supabase currently provides authentication and database infrastructure. Vercel hosts the app. Resend processes account emails, support notifications, and optional reminder emails, including your delivery address. Meta Platforms receives the limited signals above only if you opt in to the advertising pixel.
  • We may disclose information if required by law, or where we believe it is necessary to protect the security of the service or the safety of our users.

Because service providers like these necessarily process data to make Memento work, we cannot promise your information is never shared with anyone — only that it is never sold, and that the content of your Memento account is never shared for advertising purposes.

Retention and deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account remains active. You can permanently delete your account and its associated data at any time from Settings, or by emailing support@mementolife.com. After deletion, limited backup copies or records we are legally required to retain may persist for a short period before being fully removed.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate for the current service, including database access controls that restrict every account to its own data. No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You may contact support@mementolife.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, subject to applicable law and reasonable identity verification.

Children

Memento is intended for users aged 18 and older and is not directed to children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Memento changes. If we do, we will update the effective date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
